Geographically targeted ads

London buses are to be fitted with GPS advertising, as Yell.com in parnership with AKQA are set to launch a campaign to raise awareness of its local search facility.

Leading the campaign from the bus lane is a fleet of intelligent buses, which have been fitted with digital LED panels that display messages highlighting local businesses based on the bus’s geographical position.

Sony Bravia meets Glasgow

The cat is out of the bag, Glasgow, Scotland is the chosen location for Sony to follow up the bouncy balls of San Francisco. A blog has been launched to document the development and the ever growing interest in this forthcoming campaign.

Farfar have quite literally produced an all singing, all dancing campaign to promote Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. The main event being a video personalisation module that allows you’re name to be sung from great heights and at varying pitches, as you become part of Stockholm the Musical, a slick site it is too.

In support of the forthcoming marketing campaign, a blog has been launched so we can follow the adventures of Steve and Richard, with cheeky previews of their activity via You Tube.

‘The Zoo marketing team have blagged a pile of cash to go and do cool stuff. Basically instead of spunking cash on a load of flashy tv ads thought it’d be more fun to take the money and use it to do something properly good instead.’

So we are gonna see an ever increasing corporate interest in the web video community - no surprise there then. An interest which for the time being will neither harm or prevent us getting our fair share of shits and giggles out of ‘Youtube’ for the next few months I’m sure…

For those looking to start playing with something else, I have recently come across Jumpcut and Vimeo, both offering a similar experience model of explore, upload, edit, remix etc.
