‘Good-for-nothing guy’ is the English of India translation of the phrase ‘Roadside Romeo’
‘…Visitors to India are often surprised at the amount of English one encounters – in the street, peppered through Bollywood films and even in remote locales. Here, I used the colourful sign-writing tradition of India to capture the flavour of this localisation of the global spread of English.’
A typographic-based exhibition English of India from professor Meena Kadri of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India.
Good work.

I always wondered whilst on brick lane and nearby streets why some of the shop fronts had giant letters painted on them.
Well now I know, well maybe not exactly why they are there but I know that they are part of an alphabet by graffiti artist Eine.
One dedicated photographer in the shape of comic Dave Gorman has captured all 26 shop fronts and placed them on flickr for us.
