Forget flash (well i have for a long time now!) I’m using javascript for almost every project I can get my hands on, but I think the benchmark has been set -> fluxiom

this is amazing, even to non-programmers this should be impressive (and not just the pricing - ouch!)

Dialogue 5 Universal Connections

USB Secure

maybe youve seen the work of the Dialogue 5 design collective, maybe not. their Exhibition (Universal Connections) which ended earlier this year had one exhibit which really caught my eye. If it were a real product Id pay for the premium to buy it. (yes I do realise the shackle will get in the way) As an object its really beautiful.

Congolese Electronica

Sunday, April 2nd, 2006

I was checking the Clor website and found this in the links, KONONO N°1.

“The musicians come from an area which sits right across the border between Congo and Angola. Their repertoire draws largely on Bazombo trance music, but they’ve had to incorporate the originally-unwanted distorsions of their sound system. This has made them develop a unique style which, from a sonic viewpoint, has accidentally connected them with the aesthetics of the most experimental forms of rock and electronic music”

Looking for SKILL?

Thursday, March 2nd, 2006

As you may of seen Hyperisland, the school of new media in Sweden has launched their promo site for Crew 11.

So Crew 11 is their latest gang of young creative technologists, designers and management dudes searching the globe for an internship.

This years shelving unit full of cute and not so cute toys present nothing new from previous years, ultimately the site is just a list of students with a link to their portfolio’s. But like previous year’s the love and graft that has gone into the site makes it something special, something I admire. The students and the course tutors directing them, they’ve got it going on.

This is the kind of platform that helps students get internships, something which UK courses that allow their students on leave need to deploy with an equal measure of love.

Superneen world

Monday, February 20th, 2006

I saw this: Neen World on we make money not art and reminded me of some of the ideas I had for my final project of my degree. This guy has started to take over the urban landscape to question the division between physical and virtual.

[quote]
This digital architecture entered the physical space when he designed the facade and music stage for P130 in Athens. A fragment from Mai Ueda’s home in Neen World is translated into a simulated ruin, a 3D computer pattern whose missing pieces resemble pixels lost in the conversion.
