Friday, November 17th, 2006

Following Mr Richardson’s comment on pleasing Penguin book covers, I thought I would bring to your attention the portfolio of David Pearson who has played a big part in the design of Penguin’s recent output.

Creative Mind

“3 worlds to discover distinct aspects of the creative mind curosity, gut feeling and intuition… filled with video interviews, product try outs and tutorials”

You may have seen Adobe’s Creative Mind posted on various design feeds this week. If not, its a new promo site for Adobe’s Creative suite.

I really admire the love that has been put into the production, a standard that is unit 9 through and through. The beautifully illustrated animation details are amazing, an adventure game-esque interface presents an experience of discovery similar to that of Jakub Dvorsky’s classic Samorost.

Saying all of this though, my participation stopping at playing with the characters that inhabit the planets is perhaps not the complete user journey Adobe desires.

Map Wednesday

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

I really like the illustration work Olaf hajek, especially the maps - They remind me of the maps you are given at theme parks, and also the tea towels your mum used to buy when you went on holiday to places like the Isle of wight!

Also on the map theme, Iain here pointed out the quality of Microsoft live local this morning, here’s a nice view of the Biscuit building.

Italy and Nike

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

I keep seeing these posters crop up on the big www, so I had to post them in case you’ve managed to miss them. I think they’re great - produced by the Amsterdam Wieden Kennedy shop for Nike to commemorate the Italian success at World Cup this summer.

One Good Turn

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

One Good Turn is a lighthearted forum website we have just launched for Orange. The site suggests numerous good turns Orange employees and customers can do to brighten other people’s lives up.

The good turn I am doing you in this post is bringing to your attention the super animations from Mr Bingo that are sprinkled across the site to illustrate said good turns.
