Are you the Worlds best emailer?

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006

I don’t know too much about this project so I’ll let Iain introduce the Yahoo! Mail Championships to you, but what I do know is we want to direct traffic to it!

Perhaps you can lay down the gauntlet to your students Iman!?

Creative Mind

“3 worlds to discover distinct aspects of the creative mind curosity, gut feeling and intuition… filled with video interviews, product try outs and tutorials”

You may have seen Adobe’s Creative Mind posted on various design feeds this week. If not, its a new promo site for Adobe’s Creative suite.

I really admire the love that has been put into the production, a standard that is unit 9 through and through. The beautifully illustrated animation details are amazing, an adventure game-esque interface presents an experience of discovery similar to that of Jakub Dvorsky’s classic Samorost.

Saying all of this though, my participation stopping at playing with the characters that inhabit the planets is perhaps not the complete user journey Adobe desires.

World Wide Web

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Here are some links I’ve been meaning to post over the last week or so, everything from wearing meat on your head to the construction of the interweb.

Ok first up is some real meat heads, check out the efforts of the meat head community gallery at ‘Hats of meat’.

Secondly, whilst putting together a leaving card for a Swedish colleague last week I was directed to the Swearsaurus (NSFW Ads), which is fairly hardcore granted - but as you imagine can be very amusing when looking for that perfect goodbye message in Swedish!

Have you been playing the highly addictive flash game Line Rider recently? Well here is a video demonstrating what I suspect to be untrue skills.

Lastly did you know that 95% of webdesign is typography?

I’M NOT A TRANNY

Saturday, September 16th, 2006

Two new humorous sites resulting from the collaborative efforts of Poke and Mother New York have been launched this week.

First up is ‘I’M NOT CANDY’, a promo site for a new range of candy available in the US from Mother New York.

The candy has been introduced to help US citizens ‘combat the harsh and judgmental world they live in, where people are wrongly labeled everyday before they have a chance to explain themselves’. The candy boxes giving the wrongly accused a chance to publicly display their ‘I’M NOT’ messages at their workplaces, in restaurants, bars etc.

Apart from ordering candy you can engage with a ‘comprehensive sociological analysis of the United States, based on the popularity of the ‘I’M NOT’ candy’. If you’re unsure of what box is for you there is a simple quiz to point you in the right direction!

Secondly Sour ex’s, a microsite which gives the jolted, damaged sole an opportunity to get it all out of their system by calling and leaving a rant on an answer machine. Shame the the answering machine isn’t populated yet, but the complimentary video’s are funny and well worth watching.

Stockholm, The Musical

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

Farfar have quite literally produced an all singing, all dancing campaign to promote Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. The main event being a video personalisation module that allows you’re name to be sung from great heights and at varying pitches, as you become part of Stockholm the Musical, a slick site it is too.

The Beer Cannon

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

‘The Art of Destruction’ is another portion of idiot internet added to the promo site for ‘Milwaukee’s Best Light’.

Think Scrap heap challenge meets Jack ass as beer can’s (filled with sand unfortunately) are fired from a cannon into TV’s, Watermelon’s etc.

From the guys at Barbarian Group.
