I keep seeing these posters crop up on the big www, so I had to post them in case you’ve managed to miss them. I think they’re great - produced by the Amsterdam Wieden Kennedy shop for Nike to commemorate the Italian success at World Cup this summer.

I have been looking forward to the new site for the west London boutique group ‘Matches’ for a while, my wait is over, I recieved a courteous ’sorry its late, but now live’ notice this morning - although there was no complimentray voucher though
So what is the site like?
I read a preview of the site in a sunday newspaper supplement a few weeks back, and apparently what was going to be special about Matches online was its ‘larger than net-a porter and others’ range of exclusive designer wares - Well it certainly appears to all be there, 34 coat designers alone!

A film if you like like alternate futures.
Set in the Year 2027, there have been no births in the world since 2009. This is a surreal gritty, grungy story told by Alfonso CuarĂ³n from the original book by the award winning P. D. James. (which I havent read) It feels like it ends a bit abruptly, but quite appropriately. I wont spoil any of it here and I completely urge you to go and enjoy it yourself.
Story completely aside, from a purely visual perspective, its cinematography is akin to beautifullly realised dystopian visions created by Viktor Antonov the concept artist of Half Life 2. Without being typically hollywoody, Children of Men absorbs you with its non stop action from the word go, which is why it reminded me of HL-2. Its one of those films in which I forgot I was watching a film.
I remember a quote from William Friedkin on the exorcist DVD commentary, if my memory serves me right,he was essentially talking about the threshold of light vs dark and noisy vs quiet scenes in a film. Thinking back, this is a film punctuated poetically by those extremes.
Its also embellished with a few nice little future retro touches and references.

Two new humorous sites resulting from the collaborative efforts of Poke and Mother New York have been launched this week.
First up is ‘I’M NOT CANDY’, a promo site for a new range of candy available in the US from Mother New York.
The candy has been introduced to help US citizens ‘combat the harsh and judgmental world they live in, where people are wrongly labeled everyday before they have a chance to explain themselves’. The candy boxes giving the wrongly accused a chance to publicly display their ‘I’M NOT’ messages at their workplaces, in restaurants, bars etc.
Apart from ordering candy you can engage with a ‘comprehensive sociological analysis of the United States, based on the popularity of the ‘I’M NOT’ candy’. If you’re unsure of what box is for you there is a simple quiz to point you in the right direction!
Secondly Sour ex’s, a microsite which gives the jolted, damaged sole an opportunity to get it all out of their system by calling and leaving a rant on an answer machine. Shame the the answering machine isn’t populated yet, but the complimentary video’s are funny and well worth watching.

‘In honour of this October’s resurrection of The Secret Policeman’s Ball, Amnesty International and Mother have created a series of online films. They follow the exploits of The Protect The Human Players - the world’s first and only issue-based sketch comedy troupe - and their efforts to earn a spot on the Ball with their cutting edge comedy.’
The first epsiode has gone live today.

My Hertiage’s amusing face recognition engine compares facial traits of your uploaded mugshot and spits out a bunch of celebrity matches with whom you bear resemblance to, apparently
