Trokia

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

Lots of interesting stuff going on at studio Trokia, where product designers are exploring creative technologies to develop a new approach to advertising and branding.

There is fun to be had with their ‘SMS Guerilla Projector’…

‘A device that enables the user to project text based SMS messages in public spaces, in streets, onto people, inside cinemas, shops, houses etc.’

Trokia recently spoke at the We love Technology gig in Huddersfield, looked like a great event.

Scriptographer

Monday, July 10th, 2006

Scriptographer is a plugin for Adobe Illustrator that allows the users to extend and create tools for the graphical medium. Its also very powerful with the under pinnings of Java and the flexibilty of javascript as the script engine.

Lots of interesting projects will be coming from this sweat little application in the future.
I’m currently doing alot of work using this plugin (not for commercial - although it would be interesting to see if it could be used) - I’ve got database interaction, sound control and a 3d engine as just some possibilities what can be done.

I used a very early beta version for my final master’s project and it was sweet then - so this new updated version is awesome.

Spainish Flyers

Monday, July 10th, 2006

Check out these Spanish pharmaceutical and healthcare ads on Flickr.

Originally published in magazines distributed to rural medical clinics or ‘Clínica Rural’ in the late sixties and early seventies, these vintage ads have just the right blend of Madison Avenue-inspired typography and psychedelic groovitude.

Via the ever great Veer.

Stockholm, The Musical

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

Farfar have quite literally produced an all singing, all dancing campaign to promote Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. The main event being a video personalisation module that allows you’re name to be sung from great heights and at varying pitches, as you become part of Stockholm the Musical, a slick site it is too.
