BBC 2

Friday, April 28th, 2006

BBC 2 has had some facelift!

If like me you haven’t seen this yet (apparently it’s been live for 2 months or so) you may well be equally surprised and pleased with the freshness of the redesign, the embedded flash video player offering full episodes of many programmes, sweet voting icons and wikipedia references to name a few nice touches…

fluxiom

Forget flash (well i have for a long time now!) I’m using javascript for almost every project I can get my hands on, but I think the benchmark has been set -> fluxiom

this is amazing, even to non-programmers this should be impressive (and not just the pricing - ouch!)

American dad (Wikipedia) is pretty hilarious and entertaining, Im not into Seth McFarlane’s family guy, but this really shines. Politically correct, incorrect and everything else rolled into one (Patrick Stewart included).. if you havent seen it, you can pick it up from Sainsbury’s for the same price as on Play.

Brightness is not a destination, it’s a way of life…

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

‘Friends of Bright’ is a viral property for Orbit white, the whitening gum.

A cult training camp set in the desert takes you on a journey of enlightenment, brain washing you with the qualities of the product and stuff.

The presentation videos in the tent are well casted and there is a great campaign sing-a-long which is entertaining.

The execution is slick and as a consequence the site is very heavy - without broadband you might be waiting a long time.

I saw the bright, well for a short while anyway :)

3 on MSN spaces

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

Did you know that mobile company ‘3′ have a new web initiative in partnership with MSN spaces allowing people to upload video’s of them doing stupid stuff?

Well they have, an ideal project for a cash needy student with a 3 contract with loads of time on their hands! So once you’re efforts have been accepted onto the shortlist the videos are then voted on over a few months and the grand winner can scoop a cool £1000.

According to one Katy Adelson…

“This new mobile blogging agreement illustrates a new medium for online advertising and demonstrates the potential value of advertising on a web 2.0 application”

Dialogue 5 Universal Connections

USB Secure

maybe youve seen the work of the Dialogue 5 design collective, maybe not. their Exhibition (Universal Connections) which ended earlier this year had one exhibit which really caught my eye. If it were a real product Id pay for the premium to buy it. (yes I do realise the shackle will get in the way) As an object its really beautiful.
